Photodesign Elisabeth Coelfen bio picture

Welcome to my Blog!

Quote from the Masterfile newsletter “Open” (July 2008):

Based in Germany, photographer Elisabeth Cölfen has a passion for digital
imaging, creating contemporary images in a wide range of subjects. Her
focus is in still life, food and people. Elisabeth has an M.A. in
linguistics (German and English) and in computerlinguistics. She loves
the process of turning ordinary things into art.

I am a professional stock photographer in Duisburg, Germany. This is my blog where I post pictures from shootings, industry news and personal things. Stay tuned and leave your comments.

AGWPJA - I am in

coelfen01“I’d never join a club that would allow a person like me to become a member.”

Woody Allen quoting Groucho Marx

I always loved this quote, but well… no rule without an excemption, right? I am so proud to announce that I am an official member of the “Artistic Guild of the Wedding Photojournalist Association [AG]WPJA“.

“The Artistic Guild of the Wedding Photojournalist Association [AG]WPJA is a group of international wedding photojournalists, who capture unscripted wedding moments as they happen, and excel in the art of post-production image processing. The [AG]WPJA is a division within the Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA); one which specifically promotes Fine Art Wedding Photojournalism.”

I am very excited about this honour. Wedding photojournalism is so very different from stock. Do not get me wrong; I love being a stock shooter, but weddings are so different. People trust you to capture the emotions and details on this very special day. They share emotional and private moments with you. And I have no words to describe the feeling when the couple comes to my house to see the album I have designed for them.

I hope I will shoot more weddings in the future. Wedding website: http://www.deine-hochzeitsreportage.com (only in German)
